I heard The Collective project (Timothy Brindle, Ze da Blacksmith and Stephen the Levite) and this was the last track on the album. When Ze's part came in and the beat switched up, everyone who was with me in the van just scrunched up their faces like, "Yo! This is that real!!!!" It confirmed what I was thinking...I have to jack this beat and do something to it. And so...I did. Some who have heard my verse on this track thought I was dissing Lecrae, but actually I am defending him and his right to do conscious music. But I am also challenging the fine line between conscious and that which is exclusively Gospel or Christian. We need not run from the title if it is given to us based on our Christian content.
